With chaos descending on Afghanistan as tens of thousands flee their home to escape the Taliban rule, it’s easy to feel helpless watching from afar and if you do find yourself feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to donate then read below as we've covered two brilliant fundraisers to support:
Ishkar EMERGENCY Print Fundraiser
ISHKAR has come together with partners from across the world in the aim to dissolve the barriers between us and countries less travelled such as Afghanistan, Yemen, Mali and Iraq. They stock artisan objects that have been handcrafted in places that are or have been affected by conflict and have been cut off from international markets. Their Emergency Print Fundraiser brings together a collection of works by award-winning photographers— including Solmaz Daryani, Rena Effendi and Andrew Quilty—who have continued prints from their archive for a time-limited sale. All profits from the print sale will go directly to EMERGENCY centres in Afghanistan, an initiative that provides free, high-quality, long-term sustainable healthcare around the world. Donations will fund specialist training of local nurses and doctors who will ultimately treat thousands of vulnerable patients across the country. Available for a limited period of six weeks, prints will be on sale online until Wednesday, 15th September, 2021.

Following a trip to Bamiyan and Kabul at the end of 2020, Louise Follain and Sophie Strobele have curated their photographs and are selling prints in order to raise awareness and funds to assure safety and freedom for women and their families in Afghanistan. These photos are a personal collection of impressions of the country and capture a moment in time that was filled with hope, confidence and unity. All funds are collected by ERE Foundation (non profit organization registered in France) and will be donated to the grassroots NGO Afghanistan Libre supporting women and children staying in Afghanistan.

Where to provide Direct aid
- Turquoise Mountain Trust has worked in Afghanistan for over 15 years to provide a vocational training institute and primary schools, and thousands of families that visit our health clinic.
- Urgent Crisis Relief for Afghanistan 2021 is supporting the families of those putting their lives at risk and fighting for Afghanistan and displaced families.
- Support to Families Displaced by Taliban Violence is helping families experiencing extreme food insecurity, lack of access to clean water, and other necessities.
- Crisis in Afghanistan assists the work of Afghan Learning Academy, Afghan Learning Academy, who have been providing food, shelter, blankets, tents and other first aid essentials to the newly displaced families.
- Emergency Aid for Victims of the Taliban Attacks Helps Baba Mazari Foundation (BMF), who partnered with World Hazara Council, Hazara international and Hazara Committee in UK to provide emergency aid to the victims of the Taliban onslaught in different parts of Afghanistan. The money will be used to provide food and direct monetary support for these displaced families.
- Rukshana Media is a journalism group staffed by Afghan women reporting on the crisis on the ground. They are asking for money to continue paying their staff as the crisis develops.
- Sanitary Products for Displaced Afghan Women is providing period equipment to women and girls on the streets of Kabul without any access to menstrual products.
- Afghanistan: A Call For Urgent Help is providing clean drinking water, shelter, clothing, food and basic hygiene products to families in association with the Rashid Khan’s Foundation, Srow Zar Children, and the Afghan Cricket Association.
