Edmondo Bacci

Edmondo Bacci was an Italian painter born in Venice in 1913 and studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti between 1932 and 1937 where he later became a lecturer himself.

Bacci is known for his series of paintings like the ‘Pesaggi’, the ‘Fabbriche’ and later the ‘Avvenimenti’. In 1953 he joined the artistic movement of the Movimento Spaziale and participated in all the exhibitions of Spazialismo in Italy and abroad. His abstract paintings in bright colors create a spatial impression by means of light and shadow.  From 1948 on Bacci participated in the Venice Biennale, in 1958, he even got his own room there. And from the mid 1950s onwards he was promoted and supported by Peggy Guggenheim. The works of Bacci are represented inter alia in the collections of Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Guggenheim Museum, Ca' Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art, Gallerie di Piazza Scala, and Fondazione Querini Stampalia.

Female Face is a limited edition print, only 100 runs available.
